Manzil 4 Al Isra' (chapter 17) through Al-Furqan (chapter 25) consisting of 9 chapters. Manzil 3 Yunus (chapter 10) through An-Nahl (chapter 16) consisting of 7 chapters. Manzil 2 Al-Ma'ida (chapter 5) through At-Tawba (chapter 9) consisting of 5 chapters. Manzil 1 Surah Al-Fatihah To Surah An-Nisa' - Total 4 Surahs. The Most Common Division of the 7 Manzils of the Qur'an was done by Hamza Al-Zayyat (d.156/772) It was a habit of many from among the salaf to complete the recitation of the whole Qur'an within a week and therefore people such as Hamza Al-Zayyat (d.156/772) worked on dividing the Qur'an into 7 Equal Sections, each Section became know as a Manzil.
